3.0 out of 5 stars Just Too Small, November 10, 2015

There is nothing intrinsically wrong with these pots and pans; the metal is thick enough for even heating, the handles are affixed strongly, insulate from heat and are well designed. The lids are vented and when the handles are screwed on tighter will serve well. With their black exteriors this cookware set would even look good hanging from a pot rack. This would be an adequate starter set, except...

It is hard to tell from any photo, including the one below, but they are too small and too shallow. Even if you place a ruler next to them for scale, it is hard to tell; You need to hold them in your hands. You get one small fry pan and a smaller one. You get one small casserole pot and an even smaller one. You get one medium small sauce pot and a smaller one. The sides are not high enough.

I think for the money anyone who has a kitchen bigger than Manhattan apartment size will be better served with garage sale pots of greater volume and fry pans of greater diameter... Read more

This is another in the Amazon Basics line. I’ve bought many Basics products and found them all to be a good deal better than what I’d expect from a generic item although, I suppose, Amazon itself is now a brand. Still, I think if this as a generic because the brand is the same as the vendor.

The set is three pots and two frying sort of pans. The pots all have lids and the lids each have a vent. The largest lid also fits the smaller fry pan. The large fry pan is the only item lacking a lid.

Construction is fairly heavy aluminum with a truly superb non-stick coating for the cooking surface. The handles are soft touch which stay cool even after an hour on the burner. The handles are extraordinarily comfortable and non-slip as well.

The surface which touches the burners has dots (see photograph) which may be functional or decorative. I’m not clear on it. Anyway, the units all heat quickly as you’d expect from aluminum and also... Read more

I guess I should have paid more attention to the product description, but I was surprised by how small these pans are. The largest two (the bigger skillet and casserole) are less than 10 inches. They are big enough to cook for a single individual or maybe a couple, but certainly not big enough to cook for a group. This would be a good starter set for someone first setting up their own household. The pans are not lightweight, but they’re not heavy-duty either. They are reasonable quality for the kind of use most people would probably give them.

I have been using these pans to cook for my daughters. The smaller sauce pan is just the right size to make the creamy pasta they like to take in their thermos for lunch and the skillets are about the right size for scrambled eggs (the smaller or the larger one, depending on whether or not daddy is eating too). They are easy to use and wash. The non-stick surface makes it easy to stir and flip without anything getting... Read more
